What To Do About Your Unwanted Tattoo
For many people the tattoo that seemed like a good idea at one time, is no longer something they want to display. Fortunately, advanced laser technology is often able to erase or diminish the tattoo mark.
Laser Tattoo Removal –
Solution For Unwanted Tattoos
Lasers remove tattoo ink with the energy of light. The laser device produces one or more specific wavelengths of light and medical research has taught us which wavelengths of light to use to best remove the different tattoo ink colors.
Tatoo ink is removed by using specific wavelengths of light which pass through the skin, but are absorbed by the ink. The rapid absorption of the light energy causes the tattoo ink to break down. The ink is then absorbed and disposed of by the body.
We Use The Most Effective Tattoo Removal Lasers On The Market
Aesthetic Laser and Med-Spa uses the state-of-the-art Medlite laser. The Medlite provides flexibility in wavelengths and delivers the light in very short, high intensity pulses for maximum ink destruction. The result of specific combination of wavelength and rapidly pulsed light allows tattoos to be effectively treated with minimal damage to the skin and with less discomfort than other laser treatments. The Medlite is the industry's laser of choice for advanced tattoo removal.
Advanced Laser Technology Minimizes Discomfort
The Medlite laser emits light in very short flashes called pulses. The impact of the energy from the powerful pulse of light is similar to the snap of a thin rubber band. The majority of tattoo removal patients do not require anesthesia.
On the average, professional tattoos require 5-8 treatments. Amateur tattoos require 4-5 treatments, all spaced approximately 6-8 weeks apart. The number of treatments needed depends on the amount and type of ink used and the depth of the ink in the skin. Occasionally, more than 10 treatments may be needed.
Depending On Ink and Age, Greater Than 95% Fading Is Possible

Greater than 95% fading of the tattoo is often accomplished. However, it is very important to know that over 100 tattoo inks are in use worldwide today, none of which are regulated by the FDA. Not knowing which tattoo ink, how deep or how much was used, makes it impossible for the physician to predict the degree of removal of any given tattoo. Besides type of ink, other factors that affect outcome include patient's age, skin type, type of tattoo, age of tattoo, color, size and depth of the tattoo.
Minimal Recovery and Care Required Post Treatment
Often there will be pinpoint bleeding associated with the treatment. An antibacterial ointment and a dressing will be applied to the area. The treated area should be kept clean with continued application of recommended ointment. A shower can be taken the next day, although the treated area should not be scrubbed.

| "I have been a patient at the Asthetic Laser Center for nearly two years. While in my "youth", I permanently marked my body with, you guessed it, tattoos. When I met my husband, we made the decision together to have them removed. Upon much searching, deliberation and research, THE MOST qualified center for this laser procedure was ALC. . Dr. Barad, and her staff have been of utmost help in this "journey", and I wouldn't put my trust in anyone else. With all that being said, please note that I live more than 2 hours from Pittsburgh, (in WV), but would drive 10 hours to receive the treatment, courtesy and expertise that I find at this center. |
